This is a quarterly meeting of the representatives of our Affiliated Town Chambers. It follows a structured agenda that seeks to understand members’ concerns and needs so that we can, in turn, inform and influence local and national government.

Town Chambers are best placed to deal with very local issues, so the Forum only discusses those things that are best approached in partnership. This includes:

• Issues that effect all/most Chambers
• Issues that require a “private sector” voice across Cornwall, for local government etc
• Questions asked of the Cornwall Chamber through consultation processes by the likes of British Chambers of Commerce, South West of England Regional Development Agency, Cornwall Council and so on.

Town Chambers seeking to affiliate to the Cornwall Chamber need to fulfil some basic quality assurance criteria around the themes of:

• Governance
• Marketing
• Contact with members

The criteria aim to encourage rather than discourage, but seek to ensure that we deal with only the credible, active organisations.
