A rising star of the legal world has brought her economics and finance skills to one of the South West’s most progressive new law firms – Cornwall-based Murrell Ashworth.
Associate Solicitor Jane Palmer has relocated to Cornwall to join the niche corporate/commercial firm which was recognised in last summer’s “Bible” of top UK lawyers, the Legal 500.
The firm, based in offices overlooking Truro Cathedral, was formed just over two years ago by Hugh Murrell and Katie Ashworth who each has extensive national and local expertise in business law.
Hugh Murrell said, “We created this firm with the aim of bringing a fresh approach to the Westcountry’s legal services and Jane, with her background and all her enthusiasm is a very welcome addition to our team.”
Jane gained a Masters degree in Economics and Finance before completing her legal training at York College of Law. She comes to Cornwall from another Legal 500 firm – Howes Percival in Norwich. While there she honed her skills in commercial litigation and company commercial work.
Jane said, “I feel privileged to be working in such a beautiful county where things are really happening. Even the economic downturn doesn’t seem to have dampened the general optimism and I am really looking forward to helping people move their various enterprises forward.”
Murrell Ashworth currently acts for more than 160 companies in Cornwall and beyond and was recognised in last year’s Legal 500 for its expertise in corporate work. Katie Ashworth has built up a portfolio of national clients specialising in renewable energy and the firm expects to have its renewables area of expertise recognised in this year’s Legal 500.
