Next week, Cornwall will join cities around the world in celebrating a Live Aid style series of charity events stretching from Moscow to Mumbai, Hong Kong to Houston. Global centres such as; London, Paris, New York and Milan will all celebrate their own ‘Twestival’ in a series of coordinated events all set to take place next Thursday evening (25th March).
Cornwall Twestival will offer the opportunity to network with businesses and the wider community, as well as an exciting line up of Cornish musical talent. Cornwall will be hoping to beat off the competition to win the top spot in the South West, competiting with rival events scheduled to take place in Plymouth, Exeter and Bristol.
Kicking off from 7pm, some of the Duchy’s top live music acts are set to play a night of live music at the Vertigo Bar in the centre of Truro, with renowned Cornish Indie band, The Hitchcock Rules, headlining. All proceeds from the events will go directly to the worldwide cause, Concern Worldwide, a humanitarian charity which helps transform the lives of the world’s poorest children through access to education.
Business Cornwall, and its publisher, Tonick Media, are proud to support the event with a mixture of cash and media sponsorship. The event has been organised entirely by volunteers in a period of just three weeks, with many familiar faces from the Cornish business community involved in the planning.
Please support this event and help us put Cornwall on the top of the international fund-raising leaderboard before Plymouth or Exeter gets there first!
