More care in the Chamber

The voice of Cornish business was strengthened today by the announcement that Cornwall Partners in Care has affiliated to the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The Cornwall Chamber is the principal point of connection for almost two thousand businesses in Cornwall. It supports a dynamic network that provides services and influence on a local, regional and national basis.

Cornwall Partners in Care is the trade organisation for the care sector. It speaks on behalf of the many hundreds of businesses operating in Cornwall and provides services tailored to the specific needs of employers in the sector.

The link up adds a new voice to the Cornwall Chamber Forum, a quarterly meeting that discusses issues that affect all businesses, irrespective of location or sector. The Forum brings together business organisations from across the county and provides a platform for consultation and debate that is unique in Cornwall.

To date the Forum has seen various town Chambers working together and Richard Glover, Chief Executive of the Cornwall Chamber is excited about this new association “the care sector contains many hundreds of businesses and employs tens of thousands in Cornwall. It is also sometimes forgotten in wider business consultations. The link will enable us to make a joint membership offer that will strengthen both organisations”.

He feels that this is a model for the future: “Working together with sector-specific trade organisations we will be able to offer a very powerful ‘voice’ as well as finding some interesting new ways to develop trade in Cornwall”.

Phil Hartley, Chair of Cornwall Partners in Care agrees “the Cornwall Chamber has clearly developed in the last few years and has become Cornwall’s premier business organisation. The link up will strengthen our membership offer and provide us with a direct line to decision makers in Cornwall and Westminster, as well as assisting us to support our position as the trade association for quality care providers”.
