Cornwall Chamber birthday party raises £2060 for Cornwall Air Ambulance

Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is delighted with the total figure raised from its first ever Charity Ball on Thursday 8^th November. From its charity auction and raffle, it has raised £2060 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance’s New Heli Appeal, with the final figures from on-table donations yet to come.

Set in the glamorous surroundings of the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay, the party was held to celebrate 30 years of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce being the voice of business in Cornwall.  
Guests assembled in the ballroom and were greeted with a glass of bubbles to start the evening. Over 90 business people attended in a riot of colour and took to the themed photo booth complete with silly outfits, provided by DJ in Cornwall. See photos for the hilarious results this produced.

The sparkling occasion culminated in a charity auction for the Chamber’s Charity of the Year 2018/19: Cornwall Air Ambulance. The Chamber team sourced some fantastic prizes – from meals and days out to services donated from its membership and there was a variety of great gifts on offer.
These included:
•          4 weekend tickets for Tunes in the Dunes
•          Meal for two at Sands Restaurant in the Carbis Bay Hotel
•          A round of golf for 4 people at Truro golf Club
•          2 hours’ Consultancy with Sam Amps Marketing
•          Bottle of bubbly from Business Cornwall
•          Two adult tickets to Newquay Zoo and Adopt an Animal
•          A BMW for the weekend from Ocean BMW
•          SUP Hire for 4 people from Elemental UK
•          A drone from Office Smart
•          Training courses for up to six people worth £432 from Cornwall Training & Consultancy
Organiser of the event, Membership Manager Nicci Dunning said, “We wanted to give our membership something to celebrate and what better than a party? We are delighted to have raised some money for our charity of the year and to have had the chance to have fun with some of our membership. Thank you to everyone who came and donated their time or prizes.”
 
Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce and celebrates 30 years of strengthening the voice of business in the Duchy.
