• Ringing the changes at the Chamber

Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is kicking the new year off with some changes to its membership offering and services

Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is a membership organisation which is accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce. As a not-for-profit company, it relies on its membership to employ some 11 staff and create valuable and informative networking events.
Throughout 2018, the Chamber hosted over 70 events, ranging from intimate social media workshops to monthly big breakfasts and its annual Business Fair, which relocated to Truro in 2018. As a membership organisation, the Chamber is guided by its membership and is excited to announce some changes taking place for the new year.

    Enhanced Member benefits

The Chamber has performed an analytical review of its website and offering and is pleased to offer members the opportunity to engage with a wider audience via its website. The Chamber website attracts around 4000 visitors per month, providing members with the opportunity to amplify their messaging.
Members are offered the opportunity to make the most of the Chamber’s wide reach on social networks by submitting a social media card which will be scheduled in on a rolling basis.

Themed breakfasts – no sales pitch

Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is renowned for its monthly BIG breakfasts and Connected Lunches, which offer fantastic networking opportunities and the chance to catch up with the business community, in a range of locations. For 2019 the team has implemented themed breakfasts to ensure they offer better value to members and beyond. January at the Alverton kicks off with a ‘creating excellent presentations’ session from Trevor Lee and February at the Jamaica Inn will centre around content and culture with a presentation from Nigel Barker, Department for International Trade. Everyone is welcome to attend Chamber events.

    Festival of Business

In October 2019 the Chamber is introducing a new Festival of Cornish Business which will act as an umbrella for a range of events across the length and breadth of Cornwall, encouraging businesses to collaborate, share and network. This is set for the week starting 28th October. Cornwall Business Fair will take place in the middle of the week. Businesses interested in developing an event for this are encouraged to contact the Chamber.
