Understanding Radon
This taster session will cover the following aspects of radon:- What is radon?
- What is a radon affected area?
- Do you need to test for radon?
- How to test for radon
- How to interpret the results
- What happens once you have assessed the risk.
Delivered by Dr Paul Jarvis. Paul is a certified Radiation Protection Adviser, a Fellow of the Society for Radiological Protection and director of Jarvis Nuclear Limited. Paul is appointed as the Radiation Protection Adviser to a number of businesses, schools and colleges in Devon and Cornwall.
What to expect:
A practical introduction to radon, the concept of radon affected areas and how to measure radon concentrations. This session will also explain what organisations need to do to assess the risks, and what to do if radon concentrations in the workplace are high.
