INTRODUCTION TO TEACHING
Friday 12th September 2019, 09:00-13:00 (with a Networking Lunch provided from 12:30)
This session is aimed at those interested in exploring a career in Teaching or Training.
This FREE taster session will provide you with useful insights into Higher Level training opportunities in this subject area and how developing these skills could benefit your career.
Providing a practical introduction to learning, teaching and assessment, this session will encourage you to consider your own experiences as a learner to explore the defining characteristics of a good teacher. Focusing on the communication and planning skills required to deliver a lesson, you will also discover how to check that learning has taken place.?An overview of the range of different teaching pathways will also be discussed with an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and find out what routes are available.
Our free tasters are standalone, non-accredited sessions that will allow you to find out what studying these subjects at a Higher Level would entail and where gaining these qualifications could take you. Completion of a taster could also result in finacial support towards a qualification at L3 or above, including the L3 Award in Education and Training.
‘The tutor is a fantastic facilitator. I really enjoyed the session and got a good understanding of what to expect from further training.’
This taster session is fully funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) as part of the ESF Widening Participation through Skills Project.
