Feed in your views on government measures to reduce ill health-related job loss, and join a wider discussion on workplace health in CornwallAbout this Event
Cornish businesses are invited to join a discussion of proposed government changes to how ill-health is managed in the workplace, and share their experiences of managing workplace health and wellbeing. The discussion is hosted by The Inclusivity Project, which aims to understand the small business perspective on workplace wellbeing.
It's time to get your voice heard!
The Government has published ‘Health is everyone’s business’, a public consultation seeking views on different ways government and employers can take action to reduce ill health-related job loss. Each year more than 100,000 people leave their job following a period of sickness absence lasting at least four weeks.
In Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, roughly one quarter of the working age population has a disability or long-term health condition. Evidence suggests that one in three people with a long-term health condition has not discussed it with their employer.
Come along to learn more about the proposed changes, to make your views known and to be part of a wider conversation with local employers about how to make Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly the leading region for workplace health and wellbeing. The discussion will help to inform government policy and shape the future direction of The Inclusivity Project.
The event aims to:
• Raise awareness and increase understanding of the consultation
• Give more Cornish businesses the chance to feed in their views and discuss the proposed changes with other small businesses
• Provide a space to discuss other relevant issues not covered by the consultation
• Give more information on how The Inclusivity Project can support business innovation through research and funding opportunities
