HomeWorks workshops
TrustMark is delighted to be part a team delivering a government-backed programme called HomeWorks, which will seek to boost the uptake of energy efficiency retrofits by providing tradespeople with information, skills and incentives to refer appropriate retrofits (beyond their own skillset) to other TrustMark registered providers in the local area. This referral network should create a range of benefits for the industry.
The project will launch in Cornwall during 2019, and there will be an opportunity to feed into its operation during workshops taking place in Truro, Redruth and Bodmin on the 21st and 22nd of March (see attached flyer for further details). Free food and drink will be provided to everyone who attends.
To register your interest, please contact ieva.asnina@plmr.co.uk. Please pass this on to anyone who you think might be interested to attend.
More about HomeWorks
HomeWorks is a programme to encourage the take up of retrofitted energy efficiency measures in households by providing tradespeople with the ability, information and motivation to encourage the appropriate works to be delivered.
It is a Government backed initiative which will provide tradespeople with information, skills and incentives to refer appropriate retrofits (beyond their own skillset) to TrustMark registered providers in the local area.
In practice, this will mean that tradespeople have access to an app which will help them to advise homeowners on which works might be advisable in addition to those already being undertaken, in order to deliver the maximum possible benefits for least cost and disruption.
For instance, kitchen fitters will be able to advise on whether cavity wall insulation is also appropriate, or cavity wall installers will be able to inform homeowners about whether or not double glazing would be a good idea. Crucially, they will then also be able to introduce a trusted and approved TrustMark supplier to take the additional work forward.
Ultimately, this will mean homeowners get warmer, greener homes which are cheaper to heat, with less disruption, complication and expense than undertaking standalone retrofits.
It also means that TrustMark approved tradespeople should see an economic boost as referrals increase, and the UK becomes better equipped to meet its carbon targets.
HomeWorks is initially being trialled in Cornwall, but has the potential to be rolled out elsewhere in due course. It is being delivered by TrustMark in partnership with BRE, E.On and PLMR.Tell a Friend
