Will outline the nature of Cornwall’s productivity challenge in more detail. It will also set out the ‘key drivers’ which explain Cornwall’s productivity performance, and which also provide the clues as to how to improve Cornwall’s productivity performance. However, and perhaps most importantly, it will set out a proposed way forward to tackle the local productivity challenge. An approach which will support the LEP in the development and implementation of the Local Industrial Strategy for Cornwall…and an approach which will not only involve all of Cornwall’s strategic economic partners and business community, but also strategic economic partners and businesses which lie beyond Cornwall’s physical boundaries.

You've probably heard the quotes about productivity in Britain. When it comes to making efficient use of our working time, statistics indicate the UK workforce puts in more time and effort to produce the same results as our neighbours in Europe.
But why is British productivity so low, and how do our neighbours manage to beat the UK so resoundingly in this regard? We will explore what UK companies could achieve by changing their approach to how we work, and the attitudes of both employers and employees.
