Mental health has risen up the agenda over recent years. An estimated 15% of people at work have symptoms of an existing mental health condition, and the annual cost to employers of mental ill health has been estimated at up to £42billion .
Despite this increased awareness, many employers are unsure how to promote good mental health among their staff or how to deal with issues that arise. Each year 300,000 people with a long-term mental health problem lose their job.
It doesn’t have to be like that.
Come along to hear how you can support good mental health in the workplace, and to be part of a wider conversation with local enterprises about how to make Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly the leading region for workplace health and wellbeing. The discussion will help to shape the future direction of The Inclusivity Project.
The event aims to:
• Give small businesses a forum to discuss shared challenges and concerns
• Share good practice for supporting good mental health among your staff
This is for you if:
• You want to support good health and wellbeing in your workplace
• You’re not sure how best to support staff in looking after their mental health
• You’re a chief executive, operations manager, line manager or HR manager
