Cornwall Wheels to Work
Firstly one must be in possession of a clean provisional or full driving licence, and have completed a Compulsory Bike Training test (CBT). If the client is 16 years old they can only ride a 50cc (this increases to a 125cc when they are 17), any client under 18 years of age will need a guardian / parent to sign the paper work and be the guarantor.
The main criteria for people to qualify for Wheels to Work is that they have an offer of (or are in) employment and that there is no public transport to get to or from the work address.
Our minimum contract is for 12 weeks, but this can be extended if all the conditions of our contact are fulfilled. We have two types of bike, 125cc's and 50cc's which rent out at £36 a week If one is over 12 stone in weight and/ or are tall, we do recommend that you have a 125cc bike from a safety aspect. We have an admin and set-up fee £144.00 which includes two weeks rental.
The rental can be paid weekly or monthly directly into our bank account. Along with the CBT test one would need a set of safety equipment (motorcycle helmet, jacket and gloves as a minimum). Insurance and servicing of the bike is included in the rental cost. Additionally. If you are interested in a pedal bike you may wish to come to Camborne as the unit next door to us (Life Recycle) refurbishes and sells second-hand bikes.
