The National Maritime Museum Cornwall is both a museum and a visitor attraction. It was built in 2002 as a regeneration project for Falmouth. It has been open for 11 years and holds the National Small Boat Collection. It celebrates the sea, boats and Cornwall.It has a lively rolling programme of exhibitions which are supported by an education programme catering for formal learning through Cornish schools and informal learning through families and informal groups.The Museum has the Bartlett Library housing the largest collection of maritime reference books in the south west and a workshop where boats from the collection are restored and replica boats are built.
