Work smarter with the Growth Hub

Growth Hub On the Road brings the Town Takeovers to Newquay for a day of FREE networking events and business workshops on Tuesday 7 November.

Companies and budding entrepreneurs are invited to meet the Growth Hub team and find out about the range of support available to businesses in Newquay and book a free business review at a delicious free networking breakfast at The Pentire Hotel.

Each Town Takeover day includes a series of fantastic 45-minute taster sessions offering fresh insight into ‘live’ business topics, presented by experienced business coaches. These will be held at Mor Workspace and offer tips for online tools to save your business time and money and digital marketing – one on planning and another on measuring the success of online marketing campaigns, aimed at helping your business to work smarter.

The Business Regulatory Service’s Primary Authority workshop will explain how businesses registering with the scheme will have a single point of contact for all licensing and compliance matters, saving them time and money. Charlotte Harverson of Good Carma Ltd & Advocacy Management, a recent attendee at this workshop was impressed, “You can call ‘one number’ get help, advice, take away the worry and get your ducks in a row!”

There are also two sessions which are perfect for Newquay’s hospitality trade. The first session of the day, led by experienced business coach Jim Payton of Transform, is packed full of ideas to help small businesses stand out from the crowd and deliver excellence in hospitality.

Businesses have found the taster sessions valuable and full of tools and techniques that they can apply: “(the digital measurement workshop) will help us to focus our marketing budget more effectively” (Bickerstaff & Co) and “after 35 years, you can teach an old dog new tricks!” (Sands Group).
Carla-Marie Jones, Manager of Newquay BID welcomed the initiative: ‘Newquay BID is pleased to see the Town Takeover coming to Newquay and we hope that many members of the business community go along and get involved in what promises to be an informative day of events.’

The networking breakfast takes place at Bistro 60, The Pentire Hotel from 8-9.30am and the taster sessions take place at Mor Workshop from 10am-3pm.

Places at the business networking breakfast and taster sessions can be booked in advance on the Growth Hub website www.ciosgrowthhub.com/takeover.

The On The Road programme is part of the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, which is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and match funded by Cornwall Council, the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership.
