Paul Britton – Local Government
Paul Britton will be on the Panel highlighting the role of local and central government in supporting the delivery of net zero carbon homes. Paul leads on the One Public Estate programme in the SW at the Local Government Association that has been running for the past 10 years working with Central and Local Government property owners to unlock land for new homes, jobs and co-location opportunities. He will focus on the work of the LGA on net zero and use example projects from across the SW that are pushing the boundaries.

 

Hattie Thompson – Hoare Lea
Hattie Thompson - I work as a Sustainability Consultant at Hoare Lea, and am seconded part time to the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) as Local Network Coordinator for Bristol and the South West. I'll be talking about the national UKGBC guidance for delivering net zero and the framework definition they launched in 2019. The aim of the framework is to provide an overarching set of principles to achieve net zero carbon.


 
Mark Kemp PLACE Architecs
Mark will be chairing the event and will also give insight into past and future Sustainability Symposiums we hold at PLACE architects in Launceston. The symposiums attract architects, planners, engineers, surveyors and consultants responsible for the built environment to come together locally. They provide a platform to discuss the issues and set out plans for building more sustainably within the context of the South West Peninsula.


 
Ben Dobson – Treveth
Ben Dobson, prior to joining Treveth had extensive experience of implementing Estate Management Practices at large mixed used schemes in London.  Ben originally from Cornwall returned in 2017. Working as a Regional Manager for a local Managing Agent he won the accolade of Property Manager of the Year 2019 (Outside London) for his work on schemes including Nansledan. Working with developers across the Duchy gave Ben an insight in to how each view creating communities.  Treveth provide in house Estate and Building Management to provide residents of all tenures the best level of service to create sustainable places to call home.
 
Catherine Pinney - Treveth
Decarbonisation & Environment Manager, Treveth
Catherine has worked in the construction industry for more than 20 years, specialising in sustainability and environmental management on development sites in both the UK and Europe. She has worked in contracting, consultancy, regulation and research roles and is both a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Environmental Manager. Catherine now works to deliver Treveth’s strategic environmental ambitions for the business including BCorp accreditation, carbon reduction strategy, social impact assessment and biodiversity net gain on Treveth’s development sites in Cornwall.
  
Greg Slater - Treveth
Greg is a chartered architect with 25 years’ cross-sector sustainable development experience and a background in economic development. Since moving to Cornwall in 2010, he has been a commissioning client, responsible for a number of well-known developments across Cornwall, two of which went on to win coveted Cornwall Sustainability Awards. At Treveth, Greg has led on the development of the housing design and decarbonisation strategy, is project sponsor for the £160m Pydar Regeneration scheme in Truro and is playing a strategic role in supporting Cornwall’s ambitions to be carbon neutral by 2030.
