Description
Understanding Commodity Codes
Description An introductory course providing candidates with fundamental skills and knowledge to prepare and process a system of classifying their parts for both import and export. It is fully supported with user friendly and up-to-date notes (including practical experience on classifying products using the UK Global Tariff) to ensure the skills learned can be used effectively back in the workplace.
Candidates will, after attending this course, be aware of what commodity codes are and what they are used for. They will have a basic understanding of the process of how to classify goods and would have successfully classified a range of goods to gain experience in using the UK Global Tariff and where to go for further advice.Who Should Attend International trade and finance administrators and managers, those from procurement and technical experts who are responsible for identifying commodity codes. This leads to an understanding of the duties, taxes, and controls required for import and export. Mistakes in this area can be costly and serious so companies must ensure they have the knowledge to manage this properly in their organisations. The course is valuable for both newcomers wanting an introduction and overview, and experienced staff needing a refresher on current requirements. Accredited Training Our 2024 courses are accredited by British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and together form a curriculum that provides invaluable basic skills for small and large companies alike. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the subject and their performance will be marked by external examiners on the completion of each module. Candidates will receive a certificate for each module successfully completed, and achievement of six credits will result in the candidate obtaining a nationally recognised Foundation Award.
That’s why we offer high quality training courses for first time and existing exporters that cover the critical steps for any new export drive.
A Foundation Award in International Trade is awarded on the completion of six modules.
