THE CHALLENGE
Help raise funds for the transformation of our theatre by joining us at 9am on Sunday 28th April for a 5km Fun Run at the Eden Project.
THE WHY
In June 2018, we closed to embark on the biggest transformation in our history – to ensure we can open up the power of performance to more people than ever and allow the next generation to flourish. Over the last ten years we’ve welcomed over 2 million people to the Hall including 100,000 young people and school groups - many visiting for the first time. Looking forward means reaching further. We want 200,000 people a year to come and see a show with us and want to give 50,000 more young people the chance to shine on stage and off. We’re building a new kind of public space in the heart of our county where all are welcome. We will contribute to the economy and encourage a space for new job opportunities, where the next generation can find its feet, where families and the community can come together to brighten their everyday and where Cornwall’s creative talent can break new ground.
WHAT ARE WE RAISING FUNDS FOR?
Together we have raised just over 90% of the funding required for our transformation and have just £2.2million remaining to fully realise our ambitions. We are delighted that so many have been inspired by our vision, and are working hard to raise the funds all over the county and beyond. All monies raised will go towards developing and transforming our building so that we can fully support the innovative community learning and talent programmes, supporting schools and providing opportunities for every young person in Cornwall to feel the benefits of live performance. We aim to double our Youth Theatre and Dance companies to generate more careers into the creative industries. We will also offer creative learning labs for pupils and teachers for all primary and secondary schools.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED AND REGISTER
You can run, walk or dance as an individual or part of a team, chorus line or entire show cast. The entry fee is £25 whether running as an individual or team and you need to register ahead of the day by entering your name and any team details on our website hallforcornwall.co.uk/online/article/funrun.
HOW DO I RAISE MONEY AND SPONSORSHIP
We’re asking each individual or team to raise as much money as possible towards our redevelopment. Attached is a sponsor form or why not create an online page via Just Giving to send onto your friends so they can donate online and you can share the link via email, or Facebook or Twitter.
OUR THANK YOU
As our way of ‘giving a bow’ to you for playing your part in supporting our ambitions we’d like to say thank you by:
- Offering free entry to the Eden Project for the day to all participants and families (please see FAQs on website for further information).
- Offering free parking to all participants.
- Special prizes for the best dressed individual and team willing to get set in a great costume.
