Since 2006 Joe’s strategically developed the charities services from a small mental health sailing project to a pioneering, multi-award-winning mental health service. Sea Sanctuary now provides a range of community-based services including individual therapy, health education programmes, training, offshore mental health care on board our two new services: A “Trauma and Wellbeing Service” on a 55m converted Dutch barge and most recently, Sea Sanctuary’s new vessel “Irene of Bridgewater” a 120ft tall ship where we offer sailing programmes rooted in the blue health concept that being on or by the water having a profound impact on people’s wellbeing.
