• Alexis Bowater OBE & Tess Stuber Launch 2024 West Country Women Awards with Exclusive Training Offer

ALL nominees for the 2024 West Country Women Awards will receive exclusive, discounted training from specialists in public speaking and confidence building, it was announced at the launch this year.

Alexis Bowater OBE and Tess Stuber, co-founders and directors, revealed the new offer at the sold-out breakfast event at sponsors Womble Bond Dickinson’s office in Plymouth.

The highly anticipated 2024 West Country Women Awards builds on the commitment to recognising and honouring the exceptional achievements of women across the region, uplifting and empowering women in various fields and creating a ‘virtuous circle’ of support and integrated community.

The West Country Women Awards shine a spotlight on women who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in areas such as business, entrepreneurship, sport, STEM, resilience, health, combatting violence against women and girls and many other categories. By highlighting their remarkable contributions, the awards seek to inspire future generations and foster a culture of inclusivity and equality.

In a groundbreaking move, the 2024 seven month networking and training season of the Awards introduces an exclusive offer for all nominees: half-price training opportunities in confidence building, public speaking and overcoming ‘impostor syndrome’.

Recognising the importance of continuous learning and skill development in advancing women's careers, this initiative underscores the awards' dedication to supporting the professional growth and success of all nominees, past and present.

"We are proud to announce the launch of the 2024 West Country Women Awards, a community dedicated to celebrating the remarkable achievements of women throughout our region," said Alexis Bowater OBE. "Through this initiative, we aim to not only recognise the accomplishments of women but also to provide tangible support for their ongoing success.

“By offering half-price training opportunities, we aim to create a virtuous circle, helping nominees enhance their skills, be ready for public speaking, and gain the confidence to excel in their endeavours.

“We believe that investing in the development of women's skills and capabilities is essential for creating a more equitable and prosperous future."

Nominations for the West Country Women Awards are now open to the public. Individuals and organisations are encouraged to nominate women who have made significant contributions in their respective fields or communities. Nominees both past and present will have the opportunity to participate in the half-price training programmes designed to enhance their professional skills and further their career aspirations at one-day conferences in both Devon and Cornwall.

The Awards ceremony, scheduled for November 28th 2024 at the Crowne Plaza in Plymouth, will bring together leaders, influencers, and supporters to celebrate the achievements of women in the West Country.

It will be the culmination of seven months of celebration and networking including events at Castle Hill in North Devon, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the semi-finalists announcement at Somerset County Cricket Ground, and the finalists announcement at Powderham Castle in Devon.
