• New grant funding available

    4 Eyes Ltd is working with a partner to secure grant funding for businesses across a range of industries. The following is a selection of new grants in the pipeline:
     
    Digital Twin Energy Grids
    Grant amount  £100K - £300K – Deadline 24th MayThese grants are for collaborative projects that enable digital twins, data interoperability and cyber resilience in the UK energy networks. This competition is part of the Building a secure resilient world programme and the aim is to improve the cyber resilience of the UK’s energy networks by enabling the development of digital twins. Proposals must:

    • enable, support or deliver digital twins in energy networks
    • improve the cyber resilience of the energy networks
    • improve access to high quality and interoperable data in energy networks
    • engage with end users in its development
     
    Applications are welcomed from SMEs who specialise in the following sectors and from SME’s outside the energy sector:
    • cybersecurity
    • data interoperability
    • operational technologies
    • analytics and digital twins
    Any clients experienced in developing digital twins and cyber security would be ideal!
     
    UK Space agency – Connectivity in Low earth Orbit (C-LEO) – No set figures but grants can be up to millions. Deadline for Expression of interest 8th of May, full application end of June.
     
    The UK Space agency connectivity in low earth orbit program will provide up to £160 Million in awards over the next 4 years to UK companies and researchers to develop innovative Satellite communications technology.
     
    The funding will be targeted towards proposals for innovative satellite communication technology in the following five technology areas:
     
    • On-board (regenerative) processing                                                       
    • Active antennas
    • Optical inter-satellite links
    • Networking and Routing
    • User Terminals
     
    Ideal for any companies working in Satellite communications technology.
     
     
    Looking forward, There are also a raft of Farming/Agritech funds that will be launching soon for any companies in that sector:
     
    Farming Futures R&D – Net Zero Farming/nutrient management (Spring 2024 and Autumn 2024)

    These grants provide funding for businesses and researches to work on longer-term innovation. This particular competition will focus on ‘net
    zero farming’ and ‘nutrient management. A share of up to £12.5 million will be available.

    Farming Innovation Programme: Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies (ADOPT) (Summer 2024)

    These grants are focused on providing groups of farmers, growers and foresters in England with support to conduct on-farm experiments and
    trials. This will allow farmers to drive practical research that is relevant to them as well as providing “pull-through” of new technologies and
    processes to the practical domain. The funding and support available through ADOPT funding will help de-risk farmers’ participation in
    research and innovation. Total of £45 million available up until 2028/29.

    Farming Innovation Programme – Small R&D Partnerships (Round 4) (Autumn 2024)

    This grant is designed to help businesses to develop a new farming product or service and take it towards commercialisation. This can be used
    to develop a solution once it works in practice. Total of £7.8 million

    Farming Innovation Programme – Feasibility Studies (Round 4) (Autumn 2024)

    This grant provides funding to test the feasibility of early-stage solutions and to inform decisions on subsequent larger scale R&D projects.
    Total of £4.8 million

     
    Defence sector – The defence and security accelerator (DASA)
     
    Dasa has quite a few up coming calls in the areas such as protection of physical assest, electronic warfare, IED disruption, and:
     
    • Upcoming Themed Competition looking at generation after next Electro Optics.
    • Looking at novel methods to protect physical assets.
    • Novel ways for Testing and Evaluation.
    • Delivering operational advantage via improved self-sufficiency and operational energy.
    • Looking for novel IED disruption methods.
    • Looking at novel deception technologies for military application with land platforms and battlefield systems
    • Looking at improving the universality and longevity of blood products for use in remote or austere locations.
    • Development of novel, lightweight, bioassay systems for the detection of trace explosives.
    • Develop a concept demonstrator for evidential roadside drug testing for drug drivers.
    • Address challenges associated with sample surface collection/preservation, analysis and attribution of hazardous chemical and biological (ChemBio) materials.
